A complicated major hepatectomy surgical procedure was performed successfully by an experienced multi disciplinary team.

A 35 years old lady was admitted at down town hospital with a complaint of severe abdominal pain from few months.

On evaluation and investigation, the patient was diagnosed with Hepatolithiasis, i.e., multiple stones in the liver extensively in the left lobe with impairment of liver function. As the hospital is well equipped for all major liver surgeries, the team discussed and decided to perform Left Hepatectomy i.e., resection of left lobe of the liver with clearance of stones from right lobe liver as well.

After 8 hours of painstaking effort by the team led by Dr. N.N. Das, Director, Hepato Biliary & Liver Transplant with his highly skilled surgeons Dr. Arnab Barua, Dr. Krishnali Hazarika, and Anaesthesiologist Dr. Krishna Acharyya with the efficient OT staff, the complicated surgery was successfully performed.

Also, post operative period was well monitored and state of the art care was given. The patient made an uneventful recovery under the extensive care of the team and has been discharged on a stable condition.
