• Principal cum Chief Superintendent, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh (March 2002 to September 2004) and Retired from Govt. service October 2004

• Organized 3 East Zone Conferences in 1988 at Guwahati,1999 at Shillong, 2003 at Dibrugarh as the Organizing Secretary.
• Organized 2 National Conferences at Kolkata (with Dr.D.K.Pahari) in 1997 and at Guwahati in 2009 as the Organizing Secretary.
• Organized Local CMEs, delivered Radio Talks, TV talks and Newspaper write ups for the knowledge and awareness of various Kidney Diseases among general public and for awareness about Cadaveric Kidney Transplant and Voluntary Kidney Donation.

• Honoured with the Guru Dronacharya Award 2019 by AVATAR Foundation and Department of Nephrology of SGPGI, Lucknow
• Past President Indian Society of Nephrology 2001-2002
• Current President of Gauhati Nephrology Forum

Research Topic

• Presented and published 17 Papers at National and International Conferences and 16 Papers in Regional and Local meetings in the north-east.
• Written Chapters in Books on Diabetic Nephropathy various aspects and Fluid and Eectrolyte disturbances.

Additional Achievements

• Established the first Nephrology unit in the entire North East at Gauhati Medical College Hospital, single handedly way back in 1981. Started Dialysis service and General Nephrology service since 1981. Co-ordinated and started the first Kdney Transplant in GMCH way back in 1989.
• Motivated, aspired and offered preliminary Nephrology training to my Junior Colleagues before they went for their DM courses.
• Trained Doctors, Technicians & Nurses from other North-Eastern states in Dialysis Techniques and helped them in establishing Dialysis Centers in their respective states.
• Helped various Private Hospitals in Guwahati to establish Dialysis Units, also helped to establish Dialysis Centers in Manipur.
